RAIPUR :
A DELEGATION of the Junior
Doctors Association (JDA),
Chhattisgarh, met senior officials of the Medical Education
and Health Departments on
Wednesday, seeking prompt
action on demands agreed upon
during discussions with Health
Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal.
The meeting followed the conclusion of the JDA’s statewide
protest across medical colleges.
The delegation met the
Commissioner and Director of
Medical Education and the
Director of Health Services,
apprising them of the demands raised during the agitation
and the consensus reached with the Health Minister.
The association urged the officials to initiate administrative proceedings without delay and forward the necessary proposals to the state government for approval. Its key
demands include reducing the duration of MBBS and post PG bonds, resolving salary discrepancies related to bonded service, abolishing the bond mortgage amount, establishing a super-specialty cadre and revising the pay scales
of interns, postgraduate residents and bonded doctors.
The JDA said it had called off the protest in the interest
of the public and to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of
healthcare services, following discussions and assurances
from the government. It stressed that the agreed measures
should now be translated into formal administrative orders
to address the long-pending issues.
The delegation also called for better coordination among
the departments concerned and urged officials to expedite
the decision-making and implementation process.
Reiterating its commitment to doctors’ rights, dignity and
working conditions, the association said it would continue to pursue its demands through dialogue and coordination with the government and administration. It expressed
hope that written orders reflecting the consensus reached
with the Health Minister would be issued soon, providing
relief to doctors and strengthening healthcare services
across Chhattisgarh.
