RAIPUR,

Road repair work is underway on the Bhainsa-Bhandar-Telasi road in Raipur district to address potholes and damage caused by the monsoon. Of the total 19.2-km stretch, repairs have been completed on 4 km, while work on the remaining sections is in progress. The repair drive is being carried out following directives from Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and under the guidance of Public Works Minister Arun Sao. Raipur Public Works Department Executive Engineer Prabhat Saxena said bituminous (BT) patch repairs are planned across the entire 19.2-km stretch. District Collector Gaurav Singh has instructed officials to expedite the work and ensure that the remaining damaged sections are repaired promptly. Once completed, the project is expected to benefit approximately 25,000 residents across six nearby villages. The improved road is expected to ease daily commuting and reduce the difficulties faced by residents due to potholes and the deteriorating road surface. The route is also important for pilgrims and tourists travelling to Bhandarpuri Dham and Sirpur. Its repair is expected to improve connectivity to these destinations and make travel more convenient. Several roads across the district sustained damage during the monsoon, creating difficulties for commuters. The ongoing patchwork aims to restore damaged stretches and improve road conditions for local residents, pilgrims and tourists.
