Campaigning concludes after hectic last minute efforts

Mahayuti candidate Sudhakar Kohale is receiving a positive response from various sections of the society in the Nagpur Division Graduates’ Constituency election, with the BJP intensifying its outreach to consolidate support for him. The party’s organisational machinery has been mobilised across Nagpur city, with workers reaching out to voters during a door-to-door campaign on Sunday.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has personally taken an interest in the BJP’s campaign. He has held meetings with party functionaries and issued directions to strengthen the campaign. He also intervened to resolve differences with former MLC Anil Sole, helping the party consolidate its position. The BJP’s Maha Jansampark Abhiyan began, with party office-bearers, elected representatives and workers covering all 171 polling booths in the city. With Mahayuti stepping up its campaign and reaching out to voters across different sections, Kohale’s supporters are hopeful of converting the response into votes. The coming days will be crucial for the BJP as it seeks to consolidate its support base across six districts of Nagpur Division Graduates’ Constituency.

The leaders who were with Congress in 2020 polls have shifted their loyalty towards Kohale. Krantikari Shikshak Sanghatana, Maharashtra, has announced its support to Kohale in the Nagpur Division Graduates’ Constituency election. In a letter, the organisation’s founder-secretary, Shahid Abdul Ghafoor Qadri, Nagpur Divisional President Arif Pathan and Divisional Secretary Pratik Sukhdeve declared their support for Kohale.

Wanjari faces growing challenges as Congress’ infighting comes to fore
Congress MLC Abhijit Wanjari, who registered a historic victory in the last Nagpur Graduates’ Constituency poll, is facing a formidable political challenge this time. A meeting involving BJP candidate Kohale and party functionaries at Priyadarshini College of Engineering, associated with senior Congress leader and former minister Satish Chaturvedi, has triggered considerable political speculation. Former minister and North Nagpur MLA Nitin Raut had also reportedly maintained distance from Wanjari for a considerable period. A meeting at Mahakalkar Sabhagruh in support of Wanjari highlighted the differences within Congress. Nitin Raut stayed away from the gathering, while Vijay Wadettiwar arrived towards the end of the meeting.
