Drugs brought from Rajasthan
Behind the doors of an ordinary rented flat on Ring Road, a drug network was quietly operating for a month. Consignments of mephedrone arrived from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The gang members packed the drugs into smaller packets and supplied them to distributors in Nagpur.
The flat at Vijaya Apartments had become the gang’s base, with notorious drug kingpin Vishal alias Phalli Gupta (24) running the operation from outside the State through WhatsApp calls. The racket came to light after police seized mephedrone
(MD) worth Rs 1.54 crore and arrested five persons in a
raid in Narendra Nagar on Saturday night.
Investigations revealed that Shubham alias Doraemon Dilip Narwariya (31) had rented the flat last month on the instructions of Gupta (24).
The gang shifted its activities there to make drug distribution easier and less visible.
Earlier, the accused were distributing drugs individually. This made it difficult to coordinate their activities and increased the risk of being noticed.
The flat gave them a common place to receive consignments, pack the drugs andContd on page 2
