Beltarodi Police, with the help of Madhya Pradesh Police, arrested former Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer Ramesh Thete from Manish Nagar in Nagpur on Wednesday. The action was taken on an arrest warrant issued by a court in Bhopal. A Madhya Pradesh police team later left for Bhopal with him. Thete, who currently resides in Manish Nagar, was reportedly facing cases related to fraud and cheque dishonour in Madhya Pradesh. A case was pending against him before a Bhopal court.

As he had repeatedly failed to appear for hearings, the court issued an arrest warrant. According to information, Madhya Pradesh police received a tip-off that Thete was staying in Nagpur. They contacted Nagpur police and sought assistance in executing the warrant. Beltarodi police and the Madhya Pradesh police team jointly planned the operation. They traced Thete to Manish Nagar and took him into custody on Wednesday. After completing the necessary formalities, the Madhya Pradesh police team left for Bhopal with Thete. He is expected to be produced before the concerned court.
