“Merely talking about social service is easy, but bringing change through selfless work without seeking publicity is a greater achievement. The work of various organisations participating in Abhyudaya Seva Exhibition is a living example of this,” said Dr Manali Kshirsagar, Vice-Chancellor, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur Univeristy (RTMNU) on Friday. She was speaking at inauguration of three-day Abhyudaya Seva Pradarshan Daan Mahotsav 2026 organised by Gramayan Pratishthan in collaboration with Sir Gangadharrao Chitnavis Memorial Medical Research Trust at Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines. Neeta Kale, Trustee, Sir Gangadharrao Chitnavis Memorial Medical Research Trust; Sunil Narware, Infoscepts Data and AI Global Head (Administration, CSR and ESG); Sanjay Saraf, Secretary, Gramayan Pratishthan; Anil Sambre, President; and Chandrakant Ragit, Vice President, were also shared the dais. Dr Kshirsagar, in her address, said that many institutions continue to work silently in areas such as care of widows and single women, rehabilitation of intellectually challenged and differently-abled persons, child welfare, orphan care and de-addiction.

Such efforts often remain away from limelight despite creating a significant impact on society, she added. She also stressed the need for stronger collaboration between educational institutions and social organisations. Referring to successful models elsewhere, she suggested greater cooperation between Gramayan and the Department of Social Work of RTMNU. Sunil Narware, in his address, said that Gramayan was playing a crucial role in bringing together organisations working in diverse sectors and helping create a link between social institutions and potential donors. He also pledged to donate three laptops to select NGOs at the exhibition. At the onset, Anil Sambre, in his introductory remarks, shed light on organisation’s objective. He said that organisation aims to strengthen grassroots institutions and social workers by bringing their efforts before society and helping them secure wider support. Sanjay Saraf, in his address, said that Gramayan’s focus extended beyond facilitating donations and emphasised capacity building to help organisations become self-reliant and sustainable. Dr Sonu Keswani compered the programme, while Vijay Khati proposed a vote of thanks.
