CHIEF Minister Vishnu Deo Sai
on Thursday paid tribute to
Mahatma Gandhi and former
Prime Minister Lal Bahadur
Shastri on their birth anniversaries at Chhattisgarh Sadan in
New Delhi. Sai offered floral tributes to their portraits and recalled
their contributions and ideals.
Remembering Mahatma
Gandhi, the Chief Minister said
that his commitment to truth,
non-violence and humanity conveyed a message of peace and
harmony to the world.
Gandhi’s
concern for the welfare of the
last person in society and his
vision of a self-reliant India continue to inspire people to follow
the path of truth and serve society and the nation, he said.Paying tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sai said that his simple
lifestyle, firm leadership and dedication to the nation remain
an inspiration. Shastri’s slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ underlined
the contribution of soldiers and farmers to the country’s security and prosperity. The ideals and lives of Gandhi and Shastri
would continue to inspire the nation towards public welfare,
good governance and dedicated service, he said.
