In an extraordinary gesture of love and devotion during Karwa Chauth, Rashmi Gupta, a resident of Shanti Nagar, gifted a new lease of life to her husband, Deepak Gupta, by donating one of her kidneys. The successful renal transplantation was performed at Metro Prime Hospital, Jabalpur, setting an inspiring example of marital commitment and highlighting the critical importance of organ donation. Deepak Gupta had been battling severe end-stage renal disease for an extended period.

Amidst challenging circumstances, his wife voluntarily stepped forward to donate her kidney. The surgical procedure was executed by the specialised Nephrology and Transplant Unit at Metro Prime Hospital under the clinical leadership of Consultant Nephrologist Dr Rajesh Patel and Transplant Surgeon Dr Vishal Vadera. Post-operative evaluations confirmed that both donor and recipient are recovering stably and remain in good health.

Highlighting the medical milestone, Rajeev Baderiya, Director, Metro Prime Hospital, stated that the institution has successfully performed over 30 kidney transplant procedures to date. He emphasized that the hospital continues to provide advanced tertiary healthcare through the synchronized efforts of its multidisciplinary medical team. Hospital management noted that Rashmi Gupta's decision serves as a powerful catalyst for public awareness regarding voluntary organ donation. For patients suffering from irreversible kidney ailments, transplantation offers a crucial therapeutic avenue and restores overall quality of life. By transcending traditional rituals, this selfless act endows the festival of Karwa Chauth with profound emotional significance and social purpose.
