The ailing Vanbala of Forest Department

City Line detailed report (October 29) by The Hitavada on the present condition of famous toy train Vanbala for children, is still hanging with uncertainty. Already it is more than 22 months that it is off the track. In the past also it was very irregular in running due to many technical problems and official procedures. Naturally, the only attraction of the city has been missing and visitors are deprived of the fun. Truely speaking, in the era of advanced technology there should not be any reason for Vanbala to remain off the track for such a long period.

And now how many more months would be required to change the old tracks, overhaul of engine or signal system etc., to bring it back on the track. It is really amusing that when we talk of fast trains, this shortest distance train (might be 2-3 kilometers) is ailing for months. One of the reasons quoted is about availability of funds. Elsewhere Government spends crores of rupees on developmental or beautification projects, the requirement for Vanbala will be negligible comparatively. Let us hope the things will move fast and children will be getting their toy train to bring smile on their faces.
