The MIDC Industries Association (MIA) has urged Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to strengthen Nagpur’s industrial power infrastructure to meet rising demand, support new investments and improve industrial competitiveness. MIA President P Mohan raised the concerns during an interaction with Dhananjay Aundhekar, Director (Operations), MSEDCL, held recently.
The meeting was attended by Rajesh Naik, Chief Engineer; Praful Lande, Superintendent Engineer; and Prashant Tembekar, Executive Engineer, along with senior MSEDCL officials.
Ajay Agrawal; Nilkant Jaiswal; and Jamdhar; representatives of Butibori Industries Association (BMA), Laghu Udyog Bharti (LUB), Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) and other industrial associations also participated in the meeting.
MIA sought urgent augmentation of transformer capacity, additional distribution transformers and new substations in industrial areas.
It also highlighted power dips, voltage fluctuations and interruptions that disrupt production and may damage CNC machines, motors and sensitive electronic systems. The Association proposed technical measures, including series reactors wherever technically feasible, to improve supply stability.
P Mohan said, “Reliable and quality power is not merely a utility requirement it is the backbone of industrial growth. As Nagpur attracts new investments, MSEDCL’s infrastructure must stay ahead of
industrial demand. We seek a strong partnership between MSEDCL and industry to build a future-ready power
network that enables investment, expansion, productivity and employment.”
