A FORTRESS ticket checking
campaign was conducted at Durg
railway station on October 3
under the direction of Dr Suskar
Vipul Vilasrao, Senior Divisional
Commercial Manager, Raipur
Division, South East Central
Railway.
During the checking drive covering all platforms and 12 trains,
railway staff detected 246 cases
and collected a total revenue of
Rs 1,59,870. Of these, 150 passengers were found travelling
without tickets, resulting in a
recovery of Rs 1,26,125.
Another
39 passengers were found travelling with irregular tickets and
Rs 25,745 was recovered. Fiftyfive cases of excess luggage resulted in Rs 6,000, while two cases
of littering at the station premises resulted in Rs 2,000.
The campaign aimed to make
passengers aware of the importance of purchasing proper tickets and following railway rules.

Commercial Manager, along with
one Chief Commercial InspectorTicket Checking and 18 ticket
checking staff participated in the
drive. Railway authorities
appealed to passengers to purchase valid journey and platform
tickets and help keep trains and
railway premises clean.
