CHIEF Minister Dr Mohan Yadav was in Pandhurna on Sunday and attended several programmes in the district. During his visit, at Sandipani School, Chief Minister Dr Yadav honoured the elderly by presenting them with shawls, shriphal and baskets of fruit. He engaged with them in warm, personal conversations and inquired about their well-being. CM Dr Yadav also interacted affectionately with children benefiting from the ‘Mukhyamantri Bal Aashirwad Yojana’. He distributed drawing kits, sweets, and chocolates to the children. A district-level exhibition was organised on this occasion, featuring displays of activities and initiatives by various government departments. The Chief Minister inspected the stalls and exhibitions set up by various departments. He appreciated the work being done under selfemployment schemes and the products being manufactured locally, and also distributed benefits to the beneficiaries of many welfare schemes.

During the event, Chief Minister Dr Yadav distributed scooters to students who had excelled in Class 12 under the ‘Chief Minister Scooty Scheme’. While attending District Development Advisory Committee meet CM Dr Yadav remarked that while Pandhurna is technically the 55th district, if one counts starting from the Maharashtra border, it is the first district. He pledged to ensure there would be no shortcomings in the development of its infrastructure. While returning from Pandhurna, Dr Yadav instructed Divisional Commissioner and the District Collector to conduct a survey of the crops that were deteriorating. Prior to this, Congress members, farmers’ organisations, and numerous farmers had requested the Chief Minister to declare Pandhurna district droughtaffected. They informed CM Dr Yadav that the district had received only about half the usual rainfall, and nearly all crops were at risk of withering due to the dry spell. Present on the occasion were Chhindwara-Pandhurna MP Vivek Bunty Sahu; former ministers Nana Bhau Mohod and Vaishali Mahale; Ujjwal Thakur, Sandeep Ghatode, and Sandeep Raghuvanshi; other public representatives; and others.
