Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) Chairman Sachin Kirpan recently said that the committee is progressing towards financial stability. “We are committed to its all-round development by providing farmers remunerative prices, safe storage facilities and modern infrastructure,” he said while addressing the annual general meeting (AGM) and
farmers’ guidance and
training conference, held at Ganga Bhavan Hall, Ambedkar Chowk, Ramtek.
Vice-Chairperson Laxmi Kumre, Taluka Agriculture Officer (TAO) Sunil Korte, directors, traders, brokers, employees, sarpanchs and representatives of cooperative societies attended the meeting.
Director Trilok Mehar gave the introductory speech, while Secretary Hanumant Mahajan presented the annual report. TAO Korte briefed farmers about various government schemes and urged them to adopt modern farming techniques.
Winners of the previous year’s ‘Lucky Draw’ scheme were presented prizes, while participating farmers and representatives of village institutions were also felicitated.
Secretary Hanumanta Mahajan and APMC employees were honoured for their outstanding work. Director Viresh Ashtankar proposed the vote of thanks.
