Emphasizing that industrial consumers are the financial backbone of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd’s revenue and ensuring they face no power disruptions is the utility’s top priority, Director (Operations) Dhananjay Aundhekar assured that MSEDCL is fully committed to delivering prompt, continuous, and high-quality power supply to entrepreneurs in Nagpur and Wardha districts. He announced that field operations will be made more streamlined, accessible, and efficient to achieve this goal.
Aundhekar was speaking during an interactive meeting held with office-bearers of key industrial associations from Nagpur and Wardha districts at Vidyut Bhavan, the Nagpur Zonal Office recently. During the session, he attentively listened to various grievances and issues raised by the industrial representatives and issued explicit directives to senior officials for their immediate resolution. Prominent officials in attendance included Chief Engineer (Nagpur Zone) Rajesh Naik, Chief Engineer (MSETCL) Satish Ane, as well as Superintending Engineers Amit Paranjape, Praful Lande, Sanjay Wakde, Smita Parkhi, Vaibhav Patode, and Deepali Madelwar.
Aundhekar highlighted that primary focus will be placed on accelerating the reinforcement and maintenance of the local distribution network to guarantee seamless power supply for industrial units. He said that the rapid expansion of solar power across Maharashtra has significantly reduced the cross-subsidy burden on industrial consumers and yielded substantial savings in power procurement costs.
As a result, industrial and commercial electricity tariffs are set to decrease further in the near future. He expressed confidence that solar energy will eventually enable direct power tariff concessions during daytime for all consumer categories, including domestic, commercial, and industrial.
The interactive session saw active participation from key industrial bodies, including the MIDC Industrial Association, Butibori Manufacturing Association, Wanjara Industrial Association, Laghu Udyog Bharati, Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce, Vidarbha Industries Association, and Rural Vidarbha Industries Association. Following their submissions, Director Aundhekar ordered immediate local-level redressal of all highlighted electricity issues. Executive Engineers Amit Shivalkar, Priti Phule, Sharmila Ingle, Santosh Kshirsagar, Dhammadeep Fulzele, Rahul Jivtode, Dr Gajanan Jaiswal, Prashant Tembhekar, Naresh Pardhi, and Pradeep Ghorude, along with a large number of senior engineers and officers, were present.
