IndiGo’s Jabalpur-Indore direct flight faces winter schedule turbulence, passengers cry foul
Staff Reporter :
AIR travellers from Mahakoshal
and Vindhya regions have been
hit by reports that IndiGo will
withdraw its sole direct flight
between Jabalpur and Indore
from October 25 as part of its winter schedule. The 1 hour 40
minute flight, operated as 6E
7315/6E 7316 with ATR-72 aircraft, is the fastest link between
the two commercial hubs. Its
reported suspension would force
passengers from Jabalpur, Katni,
Narsinghpur, Mandla, Shahpura,
Satna and Rewa to endure a 10-
12 hour road journey.
Traders, students, patients and
daily commuters called it their
most convenient lifeline, and
news of its closure without an
alternative has sparked sharp
resentment.
Local groups are
demanding that the service be
retained.
As of IndiGo’s published schedule checked on Thursday, both
flights are still listed beyond
October 25, but with revised timings, Jabalpur to Indore at 19:50
hrs and Indore to Jabalpur at
06:55 hrs effective from October
25. No official cancellation notice
has been issued by IndiGo or
Dumna Airport as of Thursday
evening.
Passengers are advised to verify booking status on indigo.in
before travel, while aviation
sources indicate the final winter
schedule may see minor time
changes, not a full withdrawal.
