MANDLA :
ON THURSDAY at approximately 5 am, information was
received about the presence of
a tiger in the backyard of a house
in village Arouli. Upon receiving the information, Forest
Department personnel immediately arrived at the scene.
Given the sensitivity of the
situation, the area was
secured, and senior officials
were immediately informed,
while villagers were advised to
exercise caution.
Following the guidance of
senior officials and obtaining
the necessary permissions, the
tiger was safely rescued. The
tiger was successfully rescued
by the rescue team from Khatiya
Range and Forest Department
personnel under the guidance
and presence of Amita K B,
Deputy Director, Buffer Zone
Forest Division, Kanha Tiger
Reserve; Dr Sandeep Agarwal,
Wildlife Veterinarian, Ashish
Kumar Pandey, Assistant
Director, Sijhora and Archana
Narnore, Assistant Conservator
of Forests, Forest Development
Corporation, Mandla.
During the rescue operation,
the police forces from Khatiya
and Tatari police stations, the
Hawk Force, the Revenue
Department, and local villagers
provided significant support.
Thanks to excellent coordination between all departments
and cooperation of locals, the
rescue operation was completed peacefully and safely.
No
untoward incident occurred.
Surveillance was increased
after the tiger attack on the
woman: It is noteworthy that
on October 7, at approximately 10:15 pm, Ramli Bai Revaram
Maravi (46), was attacked by a
tiger while sleeping in the open
space of their house in village
Arouli. Upon receiving information about the incident, the
Forest Department took immediate action and immediately
transported the injured woman
to the Government Hospital,
Bamhni Banjar. After receiving first aid, she was referred
to the District Hospital,
Mandla, and Jabalpur for further treatment, where she is
currently undergoing treatment. Immediate financial
assistance was also provided to
the victim as per the regulations. The Forest Department
maintained special vigilance
in village Arouli and the surrounding area.
The rescued tiger has been
sent to the quarantine centre
in Mukki under the supervision
of a wildlife veterinarian, where
its health and behaviour will be
assessed and monitored as necessary. Forest Department is
continuously patrolling and
monitoring the area, and villagers have been urged to
remain vigilant, refrain from
leaving their homes unnecessarily at night, and to inform the
Forest Department if they notice
any wildlife activity.
