Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur (IIM) on Thursday observed World Sight Day in a unique way. 25 blindfolded students and staff volunteers walked through the institute’s campus, guided by 25 students from Help The Blind Foundation (HTBF). The occasion was “Walk in My Boots,” a walkathon organised by the IIM Nagpur in collaboration with the HTBF to commemorate World Sight Day 2026. The activity offered an encounter with the everyday challenges of navigating without visual cues. The activity aimed to sensitise the institute’s students to the experiences and day-to-day challenges of persons with visual impairment.

During the activity, IIM Nagpur students also formed friendships with the HTBF participants and learned about their educational and career journeys. At the beginning of the programme, J Radhakrishnan, Trustee, HTBF, introduced the foundation and spoke about its work and activities. Prof. Shailendra Nigam, Chairperson, Career Development Services (CDS), welcomed the visiting students to IIM Nagpur and interacted with them. Prof. Ranjitha G P, Chairperson, Student Affairs, was also present.
