Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj Airport recorded a 3.8% increase in passenger traffic in October 2026, even as aircraft movements remained largely unchanged.
A total of 1,36,687 passengers travelled through the airport
during the month, compared with 1,31,683 in October 2025, an increase of 5,004 passengers year-on-year.
Arrivals drive most of the growth: The increase was driven largely by passengers arriving in Bhopal. The airport recorded 70,970 arrivals in October, while 65,717 passengers departed for other destinations.
In the corresponding month last year, arrivals stood at 66,791 and departures at 64,892. Arrivals thus increased by 4,179, while departures rose by 825.
Aircraft movements record marginal decline: Despite the rise in passenger traffic, aircraft
movements registered a slight decline. In October 2025, the airport recorded 543 arrivals and 543 departures, taking the total to 1,086 movements. In October 2026, 542 aircraft arrived and 540 departed, bringing the total to 1,082 — four fewer movements than a year earlier.
Passenger load per flight increases: The average number of passengers handled per aircraft movement also increased. The airport recorded around 121 passengers per movement in October 2025, compared with approximately 126 in October 2026. The figures indicate higher passenger traffic despite a marginal reduction in aircraft movements.
