A unique blend of classical music and visual art marked the monthly morning music programme ‘Brahmanaad’, organised by the South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), Civil Lines, at its premises on Sunday morning.
Renowned violinist Pandit Kamal Kamale began his recital with Raag Bairagi Bhairav, followed by thumris, an abhang, a natyageet and compositions in Raag Jangla Bhairavi and Bhairavi.
Tabla player Rahul Bene accompanied him.
The programme also featured a live painting demonstration by senior artist Dnyaneshwar (Nana) Misal, who created an artwork on canvas using his fingers while listening to the violin recital. The combination of music and painting offered the audience an experience bringing together two art forms. The programme was attended by artists, musicians and art enthusiasts. SCZCC Assistant Director (Programmes) Deepak Kulkarni was among those present.
