Senior cooperative banking expert and Administrator of the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) Vidyadhar Wamanrao Anaskar, has been elected unopposed to the Board of Directors of the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks Ltd (NAFSCOB) for the 2026–2031 tenure. The election returning officer officially confirmed the results after a candidate from the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank withdrew, leaving 21 candidates for the 21 director posts. With over four decades of experience in legal, financial, and administrative management within the cooperative sector, Anaskar has served as MSCB Administrator for the past eight years.

Under his leadership, the bank achieved a net worth of Rs 5,760 crore alongside strong financial discipline, professional expansion, and digital efficiency. NAFSCOB plays a pivotal national role in advocating for the three-tier rural credit structure - State Cooperative Banks, District Central Cooperative Banks, and Primary Agricultural Credit Societies - before the Central Government, RBI, and NABARD. Industry leaders welcomed Anaskar’s election, expressing confidence that his extensive expertise will strengthen Maharashtra’s representation on key policy matters, including regulatory updates, digital banking, cyber security, and rural credit reinforcement.
