Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi, dismissing allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi became Prime Minister with the help of foreign powers. Sai described the claim as baseless and said Rahul Gandhi’s statements had lost credibility.
Speaking to the media after returning from Delhi, Sai said the Congress and opposition parties had run out of substantive issues and were resorting to allegations to mislead the public. He said whenever the opposition lacked genuine political issues, it made such claims in an attempt to provoke people. However, he asserted that the people of the country were aware of the facts and would not be influenced by such statements.
Responding to Congress questions regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Chhattisgarh, the
Chief Minister said the opposition had no moral standing to raise such concerns.
Sai alleged that the Congress Government had failed to pursue the fight against Naxalism with sufficient determination during its tenure. He further claimed that the party’s approach had allowed Naxalism to continue and expand in Chhattisgarh for a prolonged period.
Speaking about his recent Delhi visit, Sai said he attended the India Renewable Energy Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, where discussions were held on innovations and modern technologies in the energy sector. He said India was making rapid progress in renewable energy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and that Chhattisgarh was contributing significantly to the national effort.
The State is working to increase the share of renewable energy in its total electricity consumption.
Sai also highlighted the solar energy initiative in Khaira village of Rajnandgaon district, where rooftop solar panels have reportedly been installed in all households under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. He described the village as an example of the state’s efforts to promote clean energy.
The Chief Minister said the State Government was working to attract large-scale investment in green energy. He referred to renewable energy projects involving investments of approximately Rs 1.33 lakh crore and broader energy sector initiatives valued at around Rs 5.60 lakh crore, aimed at strengthening Chhattisgarh’s energy infrastructure and promoting sustainable development.
