In an inspiring testament to human selflessness, 40-year-old Narendra Kumar Rajak gave the gift of life to multiple individuals through organ donation after being declared brain-dead following a severe road traffic accident at Metro Prime Hospital. Demonstrating extraordinary courage in their moment of grief, Rajak’s wife and family members consented to the organ donation, transforming a personal tragedy into renewed hope for others. In a solemn tribute to his noble sacrifice, the administration and medical fraternity accorded Rajak a formal State guard of honour. High-ranking officials, including ADM Ravishankar Rai, SDM Madan Raghuvanshi and Gohalpur Police Station In-charge Ritesh Pandey, alongside hospital directors, medical specialists and healthcare staff, gathered to pay their final respects to the departed soul. To facilitate the rapid transit of the harvested organs, the Jabalpur Police established two vital green corridors on the night of November 2, under the direct guidance of SP Sampat Upadhyay.

The first corridor spanned 16 to 17 kilometers, connecting Metro Prime Hospital to Dumna Airport. The transit vehicle carrying the liver and heart departed the hospital at 3.50 am, arriving at the airport at 4.10 am, allowing an air ambulance to take off for CIMS Hospital in Ahmedabad by 4.29 am. Simultaneously, an 8-kilometer green corridor was set up between 4.28 am and 4.48 am to safely transfer one kidney to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, while the second kidney was retained for transplantation at Metro Prime Hospital. Rajak’s eyes were also donated to restore sight to the visually impaired. To commemorate Rajak’s enduring legacy, the hospital management planted a sapling on the premises, officially naming the garden space ‘Narendra Vatika’. Hospital Director Rajeev Baderia praised the family’s decision, emphasising that organ donation represents the ultimate act of societal service and human solidarity.
