In view of the anticipated surge in traffic during the festive season, and with the objective of ensuring smooth and safe traffic flow in the public interest as well as effectively curbing road accidents Collector and District Magistrate Abhijit Singh, exercising powers under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and those conferred by the Government of Chhattisgarh, has imposed a complete ban on the movement of heavy and medium goods vehicles on the Nandini Road stretch (from Power House to Chhawani Chowk) between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM. This restriction, implemented in light of the festive season (effective until November 16, 2026), comes into force immediately.

Exemptions from this ban are granted to vehicles providing essential services, including emergency vehicles (ambulances, fire brigades, etc.); vehicles transporting medicines, diesel/petrol, and LPG cylinders; vehicles carrying food grains for government fair-price shops; and vehicles transporting goods for custom milling (paddy/rice), milk, vegetables, fruits, and other daily necessities. Any violation of this order will invite punitive action against the vehicles/drivers under the Motor Vehicles Act and other applicable legal provisions. This order has come into effect from November 6, 2026; the previous traffic arrangements will resume after November 16, 2026. Any violation of this order will result in legal punitive action.
