A FINE all-round show by Aayushi Thakre helped Vidarbha beat Uttarakhand by 13 runs in an Elite Group B match of the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy in Vadodara on Monday. Aayushi hit eight boundaries and scored 51 off 44 deliveries as Vidarbha posted 207-9 in their 50 overs after being asked to bat first. She shared an 85-run sixth-wicket stand with Laitka Inamdar (51). Aayushi later claimed three wickets for 31, while Komal Zanzad and Nupur Kohale each picked up two each, bowling out Uttarakhand for 194.

 

Aayushi was adjudged the Player of the Match. Brief scores: Vidarbha 207-9 in 50 overs (Gargi Wankar 29, Mona Meshram 20, Latika Inamdar 51, Aayushi Thakre 51; Karuna Shety 4-46). Uttarakhand 194 all out in 49.1 overs (Neelam Bisht 56, Raghvi 30; Aayushi Thakre 3-31, Komal Zanzad 2-23, Nupur Kohale 2-39). Result: Vidarbha won by 13 runs. Player of the Match: Aayushi Thakre.
