DHARMABHASKAR P.Pu. Shri Sadgurudas Maharaj, formerly known as Shri Vijayrao Deshmukh, left the physical world to merge into a state of Supreme bliss on February 11, 2026, the holy day of Shri Das Navmi -- the same day on which Samarth Ramdas Swami went for his eternal journey. P.Pu. Shri Maharaj was an ardent follower of Samarth Ramdas Swami and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Their life and teachings were exactly followed by Shri Maharaj throughout his journey from Shivkathakar Vijayrao Deshmukh to P.Pu. Shri Sadgurudas Maharaj. Yugpravartak Shri Sadgurudas Maharaj dedicated the former part of his life in Shivkarya and the latter life fully devoted to Gurukarya. Both the phases were completely guided and blessed by his Sadguru Shri Vishnudas Swami Maharaj. During Shivkarya, Shri Maharaj authored two big volumes of the historical book Shak Karte Shivray. This divine creation was as if Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj showered his blessings on P.Pu. Shri Maharaj. The book was created after study and hard work of many years. Shivsant was the title conferred upon Shri Maharaj for his dedicated work on Shivaji Maharaj. A devoted Yogi dedicated all his life to awaken the minds of lakhs of people through his ten thousand plus discourses on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sant Ramdas Swami.

 

A true patriot at heart, Shri Maharaj had that charming effect on the audience that they remained spellbound by his eloquent, informative and impactful speeches. Difficult topics were made interesting through stories and illustrations in his discourses and time would slip away very quickly. The birthdate as per Hindu calendar and Sindhkhedraja - birthplace of Jijamata - was sought by Shri Maharaj. The birthdate of Shri Shivaji Maharaj which raised controversy was confirmed on the basis of evidences by Shri Maharaj. These are the important milestones in the pages of Indian history. P.Pu. Shri Sadgurudas Maharaj was a poet, author, philosopher, litterateur of highest repute. The contribution of Shri Maharaj in the field of history and spirituality is outstanding. P.Pu Sadgurudas Maharaj was honoured the title of Dharmabhaskar -- the beacon of righteousness -- by the Shankaracharya of Sankeshwar Peeth in 2022. Shri Maharaj, was a true nature lover who followed ‘Nisarg amcha khara Guru’.

 

From music to medicine Shri Maharaj had profound knowledge of every field as well as inquisitiveness in every subject. The radiant glow, the cheerful expression of contentment and the feeling of social awareness were the integral facets of the charismatic personality of Shri Maharaj. ‘Guru Kumhar, Shish Kumbha Hai...’ (The Guru is the potter, and the disciple is the pot). The existence and importance of P.Pu Shri Sadgurudas Swami Maharaj as a Guru in the lives of all his disciples is depicted in this doha of Shri Kabirdas. Shri Maharaj has firmly lived this doha as a disciple and is the real kumbhar who has shaped innumerable lives. Though Shri Maharaj has left the physical body, he will live forever in the hearts of his beloved Upasakas and everyone who experienced his divine presence.
