In house Safety measures

Amidst the frequently spotting of leopard roaming inside its premises, Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK) has taken proactive steps to ensure the safety of its employees and workers by manufacturing and installing special trap cages for the wild cat. According to factory officials, the presence of leopard had been noticed multiple times within the sprawling factory campus, raising concerns about the safety of workers and residents in nearby areas. The factory administration had informed the Forest Department about the situation and requested cage traps to capture the animal safely. However, forest officials reportedly expressed their helplessness in providing cages immediately, citing a shortage and limited availability of such equipment. In response, the OFK administration decided to act on its own to prevent any untoward incident. Based on a standard design shared by the Forest Department, the factory manufactured two sturdy iron trap cages in-house.

These cages have now been strategically placed at locations within the premises where the leopard has been frequently sighted. Officials said the initiative aims not only to protect factory staff but also to ensure the safe rescue of the wild cat without harming it. The cages are designed to capture the animal alive so that forest authorities can later relocate it to a suitable habitat. The move has brought some relief to employees who had been anxious about moving around the campus, especially during early morning and late evening hours. Workers welcomed the administration’s swift action, calling it an important step toward preventing possible human-wildlife conflict. Forest officials are expected to monitor the situation and co-ordinate with the factory once the leopard is trapped. Meanwhile, vigilance has been increased across the premises and employees have been advised to remain alert and avoid isolated areas.
