The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) is re-developing and beautifying the historic and spiritual landmark Gandhi Garden, located in Tilwaraghat to enhance its appeal for tourists and local residents. Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash Ahirwar inspected the on-going work. Ahirwar said the garden is being developed not just as a green space, but as a modern centre of tourism and tranquillity. He added that the on-going face-lifting will benefit city residents while also making the site a major attraction for visitors from outside Jabalpur. As part of the redevelopment, the garden is being equipped with improved landscaping and modern amenities, making it an ideal destination for picnics and family outings. Cleaning drives, pruning of plants and fresh lawn development are underway to create a cleaner and more soothing environment.

The Municipal Commissioner further said repair of benches, upgraded lighting arrangements and strengthening of the walking track will provide citizens with a better space for morning and evening walks. Ahirwar also highlighted that Tilwara Gandhi Garden is home to Madhya Pradesh’s tallest national flag, standing 75 metres or 246 feet high. With the ongoing beautification, the dignity and prominence of this landmark will be further enhanced, filling a sense of patriotism among visitors. The Gandhi Garden stands as a union of the memories of Mahatma Gandhi and the sanctity of the river Narmada. The civic body aims to develop it as one of the city’s most preferred destinations for tourism, leisure and family recreation.
