Joint Secretary, Government of India, Amarpreet Singh Duggal chaired an important review meeting concerning PM Shri Schools within the district held at Collectorate on Wednesday evening. The session was presided over by Collector Raghavendra Singh, with Amarpreet Singh Duggal, Joint Secretary to the Government of India, serving as the keynote authority. During the session, Collector Singh provided a status report on the district’s educational infrastructure under the PM Shri scheme. He confirmed that 27 schools have been selected for the initiative, including 07 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 01 Navodaya Vidyalaya and 19 State Government Schools.
The Collector elaborated on several pedagogical and infrastructural components central to the scheme’s success, emphasizing the effective implementation of “Jadu Nahi Vigyan” (Science, Not Magic) initiatives, Math and Science Circles and Youth/Eco Clubs, bagless days and the introduction of innovative Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) and the aesthetic enhancement of school entrances to foster a welcoming environment.
Joint Secretary Duggal underscored that the PM Shri School scheme is a flagship initiative of the Central Government, subject to periodic monitoring by the Prime Minister. She addressed the assembled officials and principals as vital stakeholders in a “national educational transformation campaign.”
The Joint Secretary issued several mandatory directives to ensure the highest standards of school management including sanitation, environmental integration, financial transparency and early childhood and mental health. Following the formal briefing, the Joint Secretary conducted field inspections at PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (Bargi Nagar) and PM Shri
Government Higher Secondary School (Saliwada). During these visits, she observed ongoing academic activities and issued instructions for the immediate rectification of any identified deficiencies. She was accompanied by Abhishek Gehlot, CEO, Jila Panchayat, Renu Ruhil, Consultant, Department of Education, Delhi, Ghanshyam Soni, District Education Officer, Digraj Meena, Deputy Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, SN Mishra, Principal, Navodaya Vidyalaya and others.
