Kirrtane from Pune bagged twin
titles as it was curtains on the All
India Ranking Super Series
Under-16 tennis tournament at
Ramnagar courts on Friday.
Kirrtane ousted Pranav
Gaikwad 6-2, 6-2 in the singles
finals to clinch title.
Gaikwad,
being much
younger than Kirrtane, played
well in patches but made some
unforced errors.
Kirrtane was in top form
throughout the tournament
and displayed a range of shots
in his armoury.
In the doubles summit clash,
Kirrtane paired with Jeevith S to
take the doubles title by beating
Uday Yashasavi and Rishik K
6-0, 6-3. In the prize distribution function, Vice President
Ashok Bhiwapurkar, Secretary
and Tournament Director Dr
Sudhir Bhiwapurkar and Joint
Secretary Vikram Naidu gave
away the prizes.
The guest of honour was former Divisional Commissioner
of Jabalpur Samman Shekhar.
AITA referee Siva Kumar
praised NDHTA for providing
an efficient team that conducted the tournament in a professional manner. Vijay Naidu
anchored the function and proposed a vote of thanks.
