NAGPUR Sharirik Shikshan Mahavidyalaya (NSSM), Hislop College and Dhanwate National College (DNC) claimed titles in the recently held Rashtrsant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University and Hislop College oragnised Inter-College Sepak Takraw Championship for Men and Women at Subhedar Hall. In the women’s Regu event, Hislop College defeated Yashwant College, Wardha 2-1.

 

The set score was 05-15, 15-13, 15-13. In the third place match DNC defeated GS College 2-0 (15-08, 15-09). In the semi-final, Yashwant College, Wardha defeated DNC 2-0 (15-13, 15-13) while in second semis, Hislop ousted GS College 2-0 (15-11, 17-16). In women’s doubles event, DNC beat Yashwant College, Wardha 2-0 (15-09, 17-16) to claim the title. GS College secured third position. In the men’s regu final, NSSM defeated Jagat Arts College, Goregaon 2-0 (15-12, 15-12).

 

MB Patel College, Salekasa defeated Bajaj College of Science, Wardha 2-0 to take third position. In the semis, NSSM beat Bajaj College 2-0 sets while Jagat Arts College, Goregaon got the better of MB Patel College, Salekasa 2-1. In men’s doubles final, NSSM defeated GS College 2-0 (15-04, 15-13). In the third place match, Jagat Arts College, Goregaon defeated Hislop College 2-1.

 

In semis, GS College beat Hislop College 2-1 and NSSM pipped Jagat Arts College, Goregaon 2- 1. Dr Sambhaji Bhosale, Acting Director, Department of Physical Education and Sports, RTMNU, Dr Yogendra Pande, Secretary, Maharashtra Sepak Takraw Association, Dr Ashwini Sakalkale and Dr Manda Thengne were present during the prize distribution. Dr Amit Kanwar was the teacher in charge of the sepak takraw tournament.
