In a high-level Peace Committee meeting held on Friday at the Collectorate, city officials and prominent citizens issued a collective appeal to celebrate upcoming festivals, including Holi, Eid, Navratri, Ram Navami and Mahavir Jayanti, with traditional fervor, peace and brotherhood. Presided over by Collector Raghavendra Singh and SP Sampat Upadhyay, the meeting served as a forum for committee members to provide strategic suggestions for maintaining law and order. Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash Ahirwar and Upper Collector Nathuram Gond attended the meeting with other administrative officers.

The Committee members asked for strict action to be taken against anti-social elements attempting to disrupt communal harmony. Additional police forces will be deployed at religious sites and sensitive areas. They also requested for uninterrupted electricity and augmented water supply for Holi. The administration was also urged to ensure timely distribution of food grains via the Public Distribution System (PDS).

A consensus was reached regarding prohibition of chemical dyes and yellow soil for Holi celebrations. Furthermore, DJs will be banned and restrictions are placed on installation of inappropriate effigies. For Meena Bazaar held during Ramadan, suggestions were made for deployment of female police officers and enhanced traffic management in high-density areas. The administration commended the proactive role of the committee and reiterated that any activity threatening the city’s peaceful atmosphere must be reported immediately.
