4 nabbed for housebreaking in Beltarodi; booked under organised crime section

Beltarodi Police have arrested four members of an organised gang involved in housebreaking and theft and booked them under the organised crime provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police also recovered valuables worth Rs 9.51 lakh from the accused during the investigation. According to police, the case was registered at Beltarodi Police Station under Sections 331(3), 331(4), 305(A), 3(5) and later Section 112 (Organised Crime) of the BNS. Police said the gang committed theft at a house and decamped with booty worth Rs 1.21 lakh recently. During the investigation, police used technical inputs and information from informants to trace the suspects. Four accused were arrested and stolen property was recovered from them.
 
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Zakir Mohammad Shaheed (23), resident of Bada Tajbagh; Govind Kashiram Sakhre (23), resident of Swami Nagar, Nari Road; Sheikh Sajjad alias Sahil Sheikh Abid (21), resident of Jhalgaon Nagar; and Ashutosh alias Nakkatya Luckyshankar Raware (22), resident of Amar Nagar. “During investigation we found that the accused were involved in housebreaking in an organised manner. Therefore, Section 112 related to organised crime was added to the case with the approval of senior officers,” a police officer from Beltarodi Police Station said. Under the guidance of DCP Zone IV Rashmita Rao, Sr PI Mukunda Kawade and PSI Kishore Malokar led the investigation and exposed the organised nature of the gang. The accused were produced before the court and have been sent to Central Jail.
