The public-welfare schemes and initiatives of the Chhattisgarh government have elevated the dreams of rural women to new heights, propelling them steadily toward economic self-reliance. The story of Pushpalata Parker from Pathariya Doma in Durg district stands today as an inspiring example for all those women who harbor dreams of becoming entrepreneurs but hesitate in the face of limited resources.

Pushpalata’s journey began when she received technical training in washing powder manufacturing from the Government's Panchayat Department. In the initial stages, as she went from village to village selling her product, she often had to face tough questions and skepticism from the public. People frequently hesitated to purchase from her, citing renowned national brands; yet, Pushpalata refused to give up. Through sheer hard work, she refined the quality of her product to such an extent that, gradually, the villagers began to place their trust in her promise of affordability combined with superior cleaning efficacy. As the demand for her washing powder grew across 15 neighboring villages, Pushpalata decided to expand her operations. At this pivotal juncture, the 'Bihan Scheme' proved to be a boon for her, enabling her to secure a loan and purchase an e-rickshaw.

Today, Pushpalata not only personally drives the e-rickshaw to deliver goods door-to-door but is also diversifying her income streams by utilizing the vehicle for multiple purposes. She uses her e-rickshaw to safely transport students of the SAGES, thereby generating additional financial income. Today, Pushpalata is investing not only in her business but also in the bright future of her daughter, Khyati. Her success clearly demonstrates that through the synergy of the Chhattisgarh government's welfare schemes providing the right guidance and individual hard work, rural women are not only achieving economic empowerment but are also forging a new and dignified identity for themselves within society.
