PRATIK Gangadhari snared six wickets as SGR Sports Academy took 82 runs first innings lead over Advocate XI in their Group A match of the 14th edition of Dr MN Dorairajan Invitation (Multi-Day) Cricket Tournament that got underway at various grounds in the city on Monday. At NSSM Ground 1 Jamtha, SGR scored 213 in 47 overs with Vijay Kodape (86 not out) top-scoring for them. Abhishek Dhote (43), Jai Jaiswal (27) and Aayush Rajdev (23) were the other notable contributors. Advocate’s Siddhant Mule (3-38), Hardik Varma (3-69), Shreshth Chourasia (2-35) and Chetan Sanap (2-27) shared the spoils. SGR’s Gangadhari (6-42) dealt blows at regular intervals as Advocate XI’s first innings folded at 131 in 41.4 overs. Gangadhari was well-supported by Swapnil Singh (2-25). Pratik Lokare (34) and Varma (23) were the main scorers for Advocate XI. At the outset, the event was inaugurated by President of the Vidarbha Cricket Association, Justice VM Deshpande (former judge of the Bombay High Court), at the VCA Civil Lines Stadium. Inauguration was followed by the match between defending champions MSSC and Indian Gymkhana.
