The officials found the establishments namely Jaiswal Restaurant located in Pachpaoli and Rajput’s Restaurant in Kamal Chowk, using commercial LPG cylinders. The inspections were conducted by a team appointed by the District Collector to monitor the proper use of LPG cylinders and prevent misuse of subsidised domestic gas. During the surprise visits to the two restaurants, officials examined the kitchen areas and verified the type of cylinders being used for cooking. According to officials, both establishments were found using commercial LPG cylinders for their operations as per the rule.

The team recorded the details of the cylinders and issued instructions to the restaurant managements to strictly adhere to the prescribed norms regarding LPG usage. Officials said, the drive was part of an ongoing effort to ensure that subsidised domestic LPG cylinders are not diverted for commercial purposes. The Civil Supplies Department regularly conducts such inspections to maintain transparency in the distribution and usage of LPG. The authorities also warned that strict action would be taken against establishments found violating the rules in future. Further inspections at eateries and commercial establishments across the city are likely to be carried out in the coming days to curb any misuse of LPG cylinders.
