Former Cricket player Padma Shri Dilip Vengsarkar and Partner Emeritus, McKinsey and Company India Shirish Sankhe will grace the 7th Edition Research Awards giving ceremony organised by Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh Smruti Dental College and Hospital on March 17. This function is a part of its ongoing celebrations commemorating the silver jubilee of Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh Smruti Pratishthan, 93rd birth anniversary of Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh and 19 glorious years of Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh Smruti Dental College and Hospital. It is the initiative of President, Chairman of Management Committee Sharad Kalmegh. The declaration of 2018–2028 as the ‘Decade of Research and Innovation in Healthcare’, initiated under his leadership, marked the launch of a structured initiative that institutionalised research excellence through a dedicated annual awards platform for dental researchers and innovators across the globe.

 

The 5 distinct categories each of Rs 1,11,111/- are: Padma Bhushan Dr R Ahmed research award for teacher/alumni (Institutional level), Padma Vibhushan Prof Dr M M Sharma research cash award for UG students (Institutional level), Padma Vibhushan Prof Dr R A Mashelkar research cash award for Best Patent in Oral Healthcare (National level), Dr G B Shankwalkar research cash award for PG students (Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan and South India level) and Pierre Fauchard and Padmashri Prof G D Yadav research cash award for Best Corporate Connect Research in Oral Healthcare(National level).
