In the state-level ranking of the Public Health Department, Civil Surgeon, Nagpur, has secured the first position in Maharashtra. Under the leadership of Dr Nivrutti Rathod, Civil Surgeon, Nagpur, quality healthcare services are provided to needy patients through rural/sub-district hospitals and new district hospital. These services include pre- and post-natal care for mothers under the Maternal and Child Health Programme, Family Welfare Programme, Routine Immunisation Programme, major and minor surgeries, and the organisation of health camps in rural areas.

 

Effective implementation of health programmes The effective implementation of various health programmes - such as Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan, Tuberculosis Eradication Programme, NCD Deafness Control, Palliative Care, Mental Health, Blindness Control Program, Pradhan Mantri Dialysis Programme, Telemedicine, OPD/IPD and other Hospital Indicators has led the Nagpur District Civil Surgeon to clinch the first rank in the state-level evaluation. District Health Officer, Nagpur also secured 3 rank in the state-level ranking. Civil Surgeon increases connect with patients Inspection visits to the hospital by the District Civil Surgeon, directly meeting patients to gather their feedback on the quality of health services, regular reviews through Video Conferencing (VC) and physical meetings for the supervision and evaluation of various programs, and immediate action to resolve issues have brought about a qualitative improvement in the implementation of health programmes and patient care.

 

Dr Rathod has stated his commitment to provide quality healthcare in the future also. Emphasis is being given on hospital's infrastructure. Furthermore, special attention is being given to the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana / Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the 'Majhe Gaav - Arogya Sampanna Gaav' campaign, and the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan.
