Cocaine concealed in BP machine seized

In a startling case of concealment, Raipur police have busted a cocaine supply module where the contraband was hidden inside a Blood Pressure (BP) monitoring machine and transported through a courier channel, leading to the arrest of a city-based accused. The operation was carried out jointly by the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit, Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), and Devendra Nagar police under the supervision of DCP Crime and Cyber Smritik Rajnala and DCP Central Umesh Prasad Gupta. Police investigators said that acting on precise intelligence inputs, the team intercepted a suspect near Narayana Hospital, Sector 05, who was waiting in a four-wheeler to deliver the consignment. The accused, identified as Krishna Gopal Agrawal of Geetanjali Nagar under Khamardih police station, was detained and his vehicle searched.

During the search, a courier parcel was recovered, which on initial inspection appeared to contain a standard Blood Pressure (BP) machine. However, upon careful dismantling and examination of the device, 4.55 grams of cocaine was found concealed within its internal components, indicating a calculated attempt to bypass conventional screening methods. Investigators said the method reflects deliberate misuse of medical equipment packaging to avoid suspicion during transit through courier services. The cocaine is valued at approximately Rs 2.27 lakh. Police also seized the four-wheeler used in the operation and an Apple iPhone, with the total seizure estimated at around Rs 20.27 lakh. An offence has been registered.
