The move is seen as a way to boost BJP’s winning chances in election of Zonal Chairperson in Mangalwari Zone

The Ruling Party in Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is trying to juggle the Prabhag so as to deny the post of Zonal Chairperson to Congress in one of the Zones. For the same, the Ruling party at first regular general body meeting held on Friday at Suresh Bhat auditorium, adopted a resolution with changes ‘pushed’ by BJP which is keeping it under the wraps. Sources said, the move is related to Mangalwari Zone no. 10 which covers mostly the Prabhags in West and North Nagpur Assembly segments. Congress put up a good show and won majority of city compared to ruling BJP in the recently held civic elections.

Now. in case Zonal chairperson election are held, Congress is sure to win the Chairperson's post and hence to deny the same, on administrative ground the ruling party is going for political jugglery to gain upper hand. Post meeting during the customary media interaction Mayor refused to answer the query and maintained a studied silence. Ruling Party Leader Balya Borkar who was also present asked newspersons not to press for disclosure of the note put up by Ruling Party, citing inexplicable reason. But the political manevouring is not lost on anyone, as besides Mangalwari in Aasi Nagar Zone also, BJP is in minority. Therefore as per political grapevine, ruling BJP leadership hit upon the brain wave wherein they have proposed inter changing the Prabhags coming under the 10 Zones of NMC The move is aimed ensuring a clean sweep in all the 10 zonal chairperson elections that would held soon after the 'favourable' readjustment, said the sources.
