Over 2 lakh residents of West Nagpur will enjoy seamless power connectivity, and prevent power outages
In a good news for over two lakh households of West Nagpur, the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) has started laying of new 132 KV high-voltage power line from Ambazari area for uninterrupted power. The new line will supply power through IT Park, Shankar Nagar, and Amravati Road sub-stations.
It may be mentioned that the power line was damaged in the Ambazari flood in 2023. Following the disaster, a proposal was immediately raised to repair and upgrade the system by the MSETCL.
The Disaster Management Committee formally claimed damages to the Government.
After two years, the State Government has approved Rs 3.77 crore to lay the cable network.
With new 132 KV line, West Nagpur to get uninterrupted power supply Contd from page 1 As the Ambazari bridge has been expanded and widened, the cables are being systematically repaired and repositioned to align with the new structure.
According to officials, the assigned work includes leveling the feeders and the precise jointing of cables over a 180-metre stretch starting from the Ambazari garden gate towards Dharampeth college Metro Station. The contract for this technical completion has been awarded to the KEI Company.
Currently, a team of 18 to 20 laborers is working at the site from 9 am to 7 pm daily. Given the current pace of work, the offiicials expect the work to be completed within a week.
