Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday, approved an expansive outlay of Rs 6,940 crore. The decision paves the way for a series of high-profile construction projects and ensures the continuity of 51 key departmental schemes across the State through the 2030-31 financial year. A significant portion of the sanctioned funds is dedicated to transforming the capital’s administrative infrastructure. Under the Public Works Department (PWD), Rs 691 crore has been allocated for the construction of a new building, a modern Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly), and a sophisticated MLA Rest House. Additionally, Rs 731 crore is earmarked for the construction of Government residences, state guest houses, and various offices. To ensure seamless execution, the Cabinet granted a five-year extension to 17 PWD-related schemes, including a Rs 379 crore allocation for establishment expenses under the Capital Project.

Rural connectivity and digital infrastructure also received a substantial financial boost. The Cabinet approved Rs 2,933 crore for rural housing and transport infrastructure development under the Commercial Tax Department. Furthermore, Rs 162 crore has been sanctioned for Information Technology and establishment expenditures. This ensures the continuity of nine major schemes from 2026-27 to 2030-31, focusing on upgrading departmental assets and infrastructure. In a move to strengthen social safety nets and tribal heritage, the Cabinet approved Rs 865 crore for 22 schemes under the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department. This includes the operational continuity of flagship programs such as ‘Smart PDS, Mukhyamantri Ration Aapke Gram,’ Ujjwala, and the Mukhyamantri Yuva Annadoot Scheme. Simultaneously, the Tribal Affairs Department was granted Rs 102 crore to sustain three pivotal schemes dedicated to the promotion, research, and cultural development of scheduled tribes across the state. The meeting also addressed specialised administrative needs, including Rs 354.03 crore for the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and funding for the Food Commission and the Controller of Weights and Measures.
