The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) has cancelled the Class XII Hindi examination held on March 14 and announced that the paper will now be conducted afresh on April 10, according to an official order issued by the Board. The order stated that the Higher Secondary School Certificate Main Examination 2026 Hindi paper conducted on March 14 has been annulled after claims surfaced on social media and in newspapers on March 15 and 16 that Set ‘B’ of the question paper had been leaked. Based on these claims, written information was submitted to the cyber police station and an FIR was also lodged at City Kotwali for investigation. The decision to cancel the examination was taken during a meeting of the Examination Committee held on March 23, as mentioned in the official communication. According to the official order issued by the Board, the earlier examination held on March 14 stands nullified and will be reconducted as per a revised schedule.

The fresh examination will be held on April 10 from 9 am to 12.15 pm, following the standard examination protocol including distribution of answer sheets and question papers in a phased manner. As per the revised timetable issued under the Higher Secondary School Certificate Main Examination 2026 (10+2 scheme), candidates will take their seats at 9 am, answer books will be distributed at 9.05 am, question papers for reading will be distributed at 9.10 am, and writing will commence at 9.15 am. The Board clarified that the examination will be conducted strictly as per the prescribed syllabus and notified that the schedule remains binding irrespective of any intervening holidays declared by the Government during the examination period. It also stated that it reserves the right to make changes in the examination date and timing, if required, without prior notice. Earlier, the alleged paper leak had triggered concern among students and parents, though School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav had denied any leak at that time. Officials stated that further action will be taken based on findings of the ongoing investigation into the matter.
