Panic gripped the city on Tuesday morning after several fuel stations remained shut and rumours of depleted petrol and diesel stocks spread rapidly among residents. The situation worsened amid ongoing global tensions linked to the Iran–Israel conflict, which have already heightened concerns over LPG and fuel availability across the country. According to officials and pump workers, the disruption was caused by a temporary breakdown in the fuel supply chain. Several filling stations reported that their stocks had been completely exhausted, forcing them to suspend operations until fresh supplies arrive.

Tankers carrying fuel are expected, but no clear timeline has been confirmed, adding to public anxiety. Soon after, fuel tankers arrived at the fuel stations and the closed stations became operative again. The situation soon normalised and remained the same throughout the day. Daily commuters faced significant problem, moving from one petrol pump to another in search of fuel. Long queues were also reported at operational stations, further intensifying chaos. The uncertainty has begun impacting local trade as well, with transport costs rising and traders expressing concern over a possible increase in prices of essential commodities and food items if the situation persists. Authorities have appealed to citizens not to panic, assuring that there is no shortage of fuel supply in the district.
