BOLLYWOOD Director Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, has become the biggest blockbuster movie shattering all previous records at the box-office. Backed by immense curiosity, from March 18-23, the film has registered the highest gross collections of approximately Rs 3.25 crore in the city. The movie’s gross collections are double than that of Dhurandhar-1’s gross collections during the same period and all previous super hit movies. The gross collections include single screen cinemas and multiplexes in the city. Raja Lahiriya, General Manager, Panchasheel Cinema, Ramdaspeth, said that Dhurandhar 2 has set a new benchmark in the global film making industry.

 

With Dhurandhar 2’s historic run at the box office, the film is expected to achieve more milestones in the coming days. “At present, Dhurandhar 2 is the most popular film in the country. The bold filmmaking style, mind-blowing action, super songs and engaging execution of every scene have been appreciated by the movie-goers, earning a strong fan base. Although the film is banned in Middle East, people who are coming to visit India on business or travel are adjusting their plans just to watch the movie. Such is the craze and attraction of the film that most of the incidents depicted in the film are still fresh in the peoples minds that makes the film even more attractive, he added. Askok Dhar, Local Vendor of Jio PVR Inox said that the film is enjoying high occupancy in all the theatres not just in Nagpur, but throughout Vidarbha too. Rahul Bhandari, film distributor of AM Cinema, Amravati said that the film is getting a tremendous response and attracting people of all ages. Alok Tiwari, owner of Janki cinema, Sitabuldi elaborated that Dhurandhar 2 has made history with its record breaking gross collections.

 

Most directors and producers make films to get gross collections of Rs 100 crore, but this is the first movie made for more than 100 crore persons. Harish Hiranwar, Manager of Buty Cineplex, Sadar, said that the film Dhurandhar 2 has swept people off their feet with its magnetic attraction. “For the first time, the film was screened at 1.45 am till 5.45 am with 271 people watching the film at Buty cinema. People came late in the night to watch the film and went home in the morning,” he mentioned. Sources mentioned that large number of people are enjoying the lengthy movie which is about 4 hours long during the late night shows in multiplexs and shelling out Rs 150 to as high as Rs 1,200 per ticket. Most people do not come out of their homes during Ram Navami, but this year is different as Dhurandhar 2 has shattered this myth.
