The town of Ner was shaken, on Tuesday, by brutal murder of a father whose only crime was to ask three unruly youths not to harass his daughter. The three murder accused are absconding.
According to information, deceased Shahbaz Hassan Tasdeek Hassan Pathan, aged 35, was informed by his daughter that three accused Mohammad Sahil Mohammad Israel, age 19, of Qazi Pura, Ner, Faizan Khan Jamil Khan alias Sonu, aged 24, of Pathanpura, Ner, and Ujeb Khan Ejaz Khan, aged 21, of Pathanpura Ner, were harassing her. As they were related to him, Shahbaz Pathan and his elder brother Javed Hassan Pathan called the youths home and asked them not to disturb the girl. However, even after that, the accused kept roaming in front of their house.
On Tuesday after Shahbaz Pathan, was returning home for lunch after shutting his paan shop while Shahbaz’s brother Javed Hassan was sitting at his shop in the afternoon when accused Mohammad Sahil, Faizan Khan, and Ujeb Khan reached Javed Hassan’s shop and told him to tell his brother who was not letting them sit in front of his house, to mind his own business. “We will sit at the same place and If he argues more, we will kill him,” the three warned and left.
Meanwhile, when Shahbaz Pathan was returning to his shop, the three accused allegedly ran towards him at around 1.30 pm and pulled him down from his motorcycle. Faizan Khan allegedly held both his hands and Mohammad Sahil stabbed Shahbaz Pathan with a knife on his stomach and chest.
Seeing his brother being attacked, Javed Hassan Pathan ran towards him but the accused had fled by then.
Shahbaz, who was lying in a poll of blood, was rushed to the Government Hospital on a motorcycle by his brother but was declared dead on admission. After Javed Hassan Pathan filed a complaint, Ner police have registered a case under sections 103[1], 351[2] [3] of the BNS against accused Mohammad Sahil, Mohammad Israel, Faizan Khan alias Sonu Jamil Khan and Ujeb Khan Ejaz Khan and the police are searching for the accused.
Meanwhile, Sub-Divisional Superintendent of Police Sideshwar Bhore of Darwha visited the spot. A mobile forensic lab has been deployed and samples have been collected from the scene. Police security has been increased in Ner and the investigation into this incident is being conducted by API Domodhar Waghmare under the guidance of PSO Anil Behrani.
