Despite the State capital’s status as an educational hub, Bhopal district failed to secure a position in the Top 10 merit list for either Class 5 or Class 8 in the board-pattern examination results declared on Wednesday. While the wider Bhopal Division maintained a presence in the divisional rankings, the district was notably absent from the high-performing list dominated by Narsinghpur and several tribal-majority districts. School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh officially released the results at Mantralaya, announcing a state-wide pass percentage of 95.14% for Class 5 and 93.83% for Class 8. Bhopal: A Contrast in Performance: The statistical breakdown revealed a disparity between the district’s overall pass volume and its competitive ranking. In the list of top-performing districts, Narsinghpur claimed the first rank in both classes, with 99.70% in Class 5 and 99.38% in Class 8. Other top spots were occupied by Balaghat, Dindori, and Jhabua. Bhopal district did not feature in the top 10 for either grade. Interestingly, the Bhopal Division performed better as a whole, ranking 6th in Class 5 and 5th in Class 8 state-wide. Furthermore, in terms of academic quality, measured by the percentage of students achieving A+ and A grades, Bhopal Division secured the 2nd rank in the state for Class 8th with a score of 41.35%. At the district level, Bhopal managed a 5th rank in the quality category for both Class 5 (40.22%) and Class 8 (49.63%).
