Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that people should not panic as there is enough stock of fuel. While talking to mediapersons at Nagpur, Fadnavis said, “The Central Government has repeatedly assured us that we possess adequate stocks of petrol and diesel. Nevertheless, in some cities, citizens are unnecessarily queuing up at petrol pumps and filling up more fuel than required. Such behaviour creates an artificial shortage and places a strain on the demand-supply system. There is no need for people to panic and hoard fuel.”

The Chief Minister stated that, the State currently has fuel stock sufficient to last for a month. Consequently, there is no need for any citizen to rush to the pumps to refuel. Furthermore, he issued a warning that strict action would be taken against anyone engaging in black marketing at petrol pumps. “Central Government stated yesterday that we also possess ample stocks of fertilisers; however, some individuals are reportedly black marketing these as well. We will initiate criminal proceedings against any suppliers who hoard stocks and thereby cause distress to farmers,” said Fadnavis.
