The Chhattisgarh Government has placed senior IPS officer Ratan Lal Dangi (2003 batch) under
suspension with immediate effect, citing serious violations of service conduct and ethical norms following circulation of objectionable content on social media.
The order, issued by the State Government, records that Dangi, while holding a senior and responsible position in the police department, failed to maintain conduct befitting his rank and displayed behaviour considered inappropriate and contrary to established moral standards. The Government noted that the alleged actions, which were widely circulated on electronic and social media platforms, adversely impacted the public image of the police force.
According to the official communication, the conduct attributed to the officer constitutes violations under the All India Services (Conduct) Rules, 1968, particularly provisions related to integrity, propriety and adherence to expected standards of behaviour. The Government has also invoked provisions of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969, to place the officer under suspension pending further proceedings.
During the suspension period, Dangi’s headquarters has been designated as Police Headquarters, Nava Raipur.
