With the aim to promote jute products, the National Jute Board (NJB) is organising Jute Fair Nagpur from March 26 to 30 at Institution of Engineers (India), Local Centre, North Ambazari Road. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Manali Makrand Kshirsagar, Vice Chancellor, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University on Thursday.
On the occasion, D. Mukherjee, Deputy Director, National Jute Board said, “Around 20 micro jute entrepreneurs, SHG, NGO, MSME jute units from different parts of the country, including Karnataka, UP, West Bengal, etc., are participating in the exhibition.”
The stalls are showcaseing environment-friendly jute consumer products like jute handicrafts, jute gift and novelty items, fancy jute bags, jute shopping bags, jute wall hangings, home textiles, jute footwear, jute floor coverings among other items.
On the first day of the exhibition, it received overwhelming response from the Nagpurians. There is no entry fee. Timing are from 11 am to 9 pm.
