The Central Government has slashed the Central excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 10 per litre for domestic consumption. To stabilise the internal market amidst the ongoing turmoil in West Asia, the Government has also imposed an export duty of Rs 21.5 per litre on diesel and Rs 29.5 per litre on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). Highlighting the importance of the move, the Chief Minister stated that the reduction is a crucial step in controlling fuel prices and preventing the burden of international market fluctuations from falling on the common man.
